According to my sister, I am the one to blame for this. Why did I wait 4 years to discipline my daughter. Hell if I know why I did that. The only thing I can think of is Age! As I am getting older I no longer have the same level of tolerance for crazy things in life. Yasmin used to get away from throwing a tantrum, or asking for every toy in sight. Now I am putting my foot down. She cries - she goes to her room. She wants something - I say NO..and follow it with you have have too many toys at home and mommy is not going to buy everything in sight for you.
I just have to be honest here. Disciplining is so much harder than giving in. I know that makes me sound like an idiot. But giving in means peace and disciplining means minutes and at time hours of constant reminder why things always dont go their way. I wish we all had a extra monster in our house so that every time our kids acted up..this person steps out disciplines and then leaves. What a lazy thought!!! Shame on me!

I know what you mean, being the "bad guu" is no fun!
ReplyDelete"bad guy", i meant, sorry for the typo :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for the juicy info you promised in your last post....
ReplyDeleteMy son still has tantrums when he is tired, and like you I wish I could just cave if only for some peace. But you are right in clamping down now before she enters school. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteMy 3 year old son is like that too and sometimes I find it hard to handle his tantrums but I know that no one will discipline him so I have to be firm in disciplining him.
ReplyDeleteThat is why I let my wife do the discipling - She is very good with that - All I have to do is agree with her punishments
